Chicory Rossa di Verona Tardiva - Sais Sementi (40-945)

Big tuft with broad, concave leaves of a rounded oval shape that are green with reddish shading. At first the inner leaves are arranged in a rosette, then later on, with the low winter temperatures, they wrap around each other to form a firm, ball-shaped heart. At the same time the leaves take on the colour of a good red wine with the ribs turning silvery white and crispy. A very late, highly cold-resistant variety. Seed sourced from Sais Sementi.
