Cima di Rapa Novantina. 50-55 days to maturity (even though novantina means ninety). Largest head of the three cima di rapa. Very assertive taste. Can be grown from transplants but easiest from direct seed. Spring, summer, fall. One seed/inch in rows 12 inches apart planted about 1/2 inch deep. Keep well watered until germination. Thin to one plant every five-six inches (you can let them grow some and pull the baby plants and toss in a salad or cook). 12 gram packet. Approximately 300-450 seeds per gram. Janet in NV The variety grows well in the desert climate if planted early. The greens are deeply colored and well formed leaves. Good deep flavor that goes a long way. The local chefs are delighted to have a local grower with this product as it doesn't have a long shelf life. Does tend to bolt when the weather warms.
