Dwarf Marigold (353-3)

Small, mounding plants in shades of red, orange and yellow. They make a colorful edging in the vegetable garden plus they produce a substance that kills nematodes in the soil. Although marigolds have long been promoted as a companion plant for vegetables (their smelly foliage supposedly repels insects) more recent research disputes that idea. There is evidence, though, that the flowers attract beneficials. We say try it and if it seems to help your garden grow or look better, great!  2.5 gram packet, approximately 500 seeds.
